Please explain............. Where have I been????

Hi there blogger buddies,
Please explain - why I've been absent for the most part of october til now..
Well.............
I'M A GRANDMA :)
I'd like to welcome Lucille Abigail - my first granddaughter to you all..
Now young Lucy arrived in the early hours of 23rd october..
and has been growing at a fast rate of knots :)
I'm doing my best to help out the daughter with visiting twice a week
(an hour away) to give her some rest and you know the grandma kind of stuff...
washing, cuddling, dishes, cuddling, folding, cuddling...
you get the picture!
This week however I am missing young Lucy Lou as I've been afflicted
with a horrid cold and now am coughing to no end
and have had no cuddles.. :(

I haven't even looked at craft stuff at all, since being sick..

I do hope I can get some crafting done in the next few weeks :)

On the Bizzy Bec's side of things - am just taking a wee
break to get it all back into the right order
and will start posting for Bec in the new year.

Well, thats it for now folks..

Hugs for now

Quilt ~ first block

Hi There guys,
Yesterday while two of my kids (26 & 22) were at Mount Baw Baw
having some snow fun and my son's first time skiing
I visited with my neighbour Lillian
and I had my first lesson in quilting.
Now Lillian is quite a pro, quilting loads and
I am very fortunate to have her as a neighbour.
Now I've brought some material, but she said
"Use some of my scraps" so we used some
of her scraps and I made my first block - log cabin pattern
and funnily enough
 my favourite colour is purple..
I was so excited with how easy and fun this block was to put together!
So I'm going to post my blocks going forward so you
can see how I'm going with this quilting thing
and then finally the finished quilt.

Have a great day
Sally
