Romantic Magnolia's

Friday at last!

So this my first post for Bizzy Bec as one of her new Design Team members. I would like to share with you all a card that I made for my daughter as she is attending a wedding this weekend and needed her mum to make her a card.
Now I do know that Bec doesn't have these particular Magnolia Images listed - however do you know if you email her - she will be more than happy to help you find the image you're looking for.

As you can see I've used some lovely papers (My Mind's Eye), flowers and a Magnolia die (hearts border), hearts (coloured with my copics) as well and these you can also pick up from Bec whilst perusing her online store. I've coloured my image with my trusty copics and did you know that Bec is a Copic Rewards Authorised Partner? Well she is.. and this is great as you can now order all your ciao's, sketch's and most importantly refills from Bec and get tokens to redeem on special Copic items..

Now don't forget you still have a couple of days to enter Bizzy Bec's November challenge circles!

So have a lovely creating weekend.

November Challenge At Bizzy Becs

Morning All,
By now you would know that I was selected as one of the newest members of Bizzy Bec's design team (OMG - how fantastic is that)..
So below is my first DT contribution. Now this challenge is to use 'Circles'

So as you can see I have used this lovely image - Nissa who is from Bizzy Bec's store and is part of her Goth range.
For the circles on this card - I have got out my trusty (not dusty) spellbinders and used the large scalloped circles and the normal circle dies - now of course you can purchase these from Bizzy Becs as well.
I have coloured Nissa with my ol' copic markers - mainly my C Greys and of course an orange and red. I used a dash of my white gel pen on her skull.

I hope you have a lovely day.

Hugs

I am looking forward to visiting your blogs to see your entries.

Yesterday was a blast!

Yesterday I flew back from Melbourne to Perth. It was an awesome day thanks to my taxi driver (Thanks Sarah). I managed to get to the P2P craft fair in Melbourne. I had the most extreme pleasure of meeting Zoe from Make It Crafty - She is a fab lady!

I also got to watch her colour!!

I also had the pleasure of meeting Bron from ShopBron. Oh and I spent a lovely afternoon wandering around looking at inks, paper, punches and other crafty stuff! Shhh dont tell hubby - but I could have brought a few extra little items back home with me.. ha ha ha.

How good is that!
Well am back in Perth - but a bit weary today.

Have a great night

Happy birthday SIL

I have created a card for my SIL's 40th birthday, with limited crafty items.. Again with the help of my daughter who selected the papers for me (as I am currently staying with my parents in the middle of country victoria with no scrapbooking store in sight).

I coloured Mo's digitial pencil - 'Sugar plum fairy' with my copics, added some stickles and pearls. Distressed the edges - inked with versamark bark. Apologies for the picture, but i don't have a camera cable so it was taken with my phone camera. The background looks a bit dark, but was coloured with V000 - I think its the way the light has hit the card (sigh)..

Ohhh - nearly forgot - I am going to enter this card into Bizzy Becs October Challenge - girls and pearls.

Let me know what you think.
Have a great weekend.
Sally
ps.. back to civilisation tomorrow.. back to my craft room.. wooohoooo :)

Happy birthday Bro

As most some of you are aware I am on long service leave and visiting family in the East.
Yesterday was my baby brothers birthday (ha ha 41!).. So as you know when you travel you can't take your whole craft room with you (sigh) so with my meagre supplies and with some assistance from my beautiful daughter (the favourite one!) i created the card below for my bro.. Oh I did forget to tell you that I don't have the cable to use the camera - so the pic was taken with my mobile phone and downloaded....
As you can also see we haven't had a copic class for a while, but don't dispair! we will return (smile).

The papers are Kaiser and the image is a Bizzy Bec one, coloured with Copics and not too much bling!

Welcome Tommy

Now after that pretty dismal post - I have a pretty cool card to share with you.

My friend from work - well she left to travel around Oz in a Yacht with her new hubbie and they did Fiji and travelled home to NZ and sailed around the Pacific - for almost two years!

So she came back of course very pregnant and delivered a little boy 11 days ago. Young Tommy came into work and visited with me yesterday - just when I needed some cheering up. So as you do - I went shopping and brought a few little pressies for him. Below is the card I made for him - I hope you like it! I was quite proud of it.

As I am sharing this awesome card with you all.. I thought I would enter it into a couple of challenges!
The images are from Meljen's design - so of course I have to enter their Challenge: Blasting to the past - using the a Meljen's design on your first card
Little Miss Muffet - Using Multiple images (ABC's and the stork are different images)
and finally
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge - Challenge #125 ABC's (Apricot/peach (check), Bling (check - yes apart from the obvious I used spica on the ABC's and the stars), Cute (check)) lol..

Righto so now I've posted and entered challenges.. Back to homework for my copic class!

I hope you all have a better week than I have had and may the next week be brighter still.

Ohhhh and guess who taught herself how to feather the edges of her pictures...LOL

Thanks for looking and have a great night.

Sad days

Sorry I've been a bit absent, but we have some family stuff happening and you know the drill - we all need to put our families first! as you rarely get second chances! I was out reading blogs today at work (shh don't tell anyone!) and i noticed that on a blog (can't for the life of me remembers who's it was) they were talking about some sad news a friend of theirs had with the loss of a brother - this person went to their friends brothers funeral to help support their friend on most possibly one of the worst days of their life.
I just wanted to say as a direct quote - LOVE is a doing word, so do something with it! say it to those that don't say it regularly. there was some other really profound stuff, but i cant remember it! All i can say is live life to the fullest!'

I will update this post tomorrow when I can grab the link from work and you can all read it for yourself.

Thanks for reading.

Here are our tag swaps! Please let me know what you think - so i can pass it along to the girls!

Dragonflies and Butterflies

On a roll tonight! This card is made especially for another of Zoe's Challenges! This challenge is called : Create a project using ONLY Make it Crafty Laser cut embellishments. NO IMAGES!
So here is the card - now I must admit, I have never used laser cuts before and so tried out some different effects - distress paint is on the leaves, Metallic rub ons plus some stickles on the Dragonfly just stickles on the corner adornment and last but not least on the butterflies I have used versamark and some perfect pearls..

Please tell me what you think?

Ok,now I am really going to bed! LOL

Oh, I must mention that originally I had two butterfly corners out and ready to go, but Kitty must have been exploring my desk during the day whilst I was at work and I am damned if I can find the second one! Oh well, I am sure it will turn up one of these days!
Have a lovely night and take care.

Treasure Island

After a really sad couple of weeks - I think my mojo has returned! I have had this image - Thank you to Debra for helping me navigate photoshop to merge OMG 16 images.. What was I thinking!!!!! so after a really crappy day - Thanks Zoe for making me finish this one off. I am going to enter it in one of the challenges she has set for her 1 year Birthday!

Of course the challenge is called : Merge as many Make it Crafty images roflmao.... DUH!

Now I should ask you to spotto all the images.. Spotto is like Where's Wally except there isn't a red and white striped hat anywhere to be found!

I will be back tomorrow with a tag as we had to postpone our last copic class as the lovely Debra was sick.

See you soon
Have a lovely night and take care.

Copic class - grounding your image!

So with another instalment from our fortnightly copic class - here you can see we have all learnt to ground our image! By using various techniques: a pavement, stones (sandy) type, and lines we all achieved different ways of having our images look like they have their feet firmly planted on the ground LOL..
I must admit tho - there was one technique that isn't present here and that's 'swiping' - we all had trouble with it and so perhaps one day down the track we will attempt it again and be more successful! I do recall lots of moaning and groaning when we were practicing in class!

I do so love the way the girls have put their tags together. Please leave a comment - so I can forward them on. The links to the girls blogs are on the side bar :)

Have a lovely night and take care.

Thank you so Much

This post is to say Thanks to a lovely lady - Debra James - of who I post about frequently! She did me a favour last week - spending at least 40 minutes of her precious time on the phone to me. I wanted to make her a card - that said "THANK YOU".
So here it is but cheeky me - I wanted a new image and when I got the post from Zoe at Make It Crafty, she was having a special and was giving this image away to people who registered for her newsletter and its such a cute image.. I immediately wanted to colour it for Debra.

So as it goes Zoe is doing a huge giveaway and some great competitions. So I thought I would enter into her "coloured with Make it Crafty Logo colours" competition..lol

Anyway one final THANKS to Debra.

Have a great weekend.

**Edit** Just a little note to say "I WON A PRIZE" on Zoe's Make it Crafty Challenge... wooohooo

Spring in the Valley

Whilst learning to use my copic's in my fortnightly class with Debra - we have homework (sigh - you should here us all groan!).

This little tag is just something that popped into my head after last fortnights class as we were learning how to ground our image (I will have another post with all our classes tags). So I thought I would show you what I put together

Now - if you don't mind I will blow my own trumpet - as the background was handmade - first i stamped the Cherry blossom branches - then masked them all up - then created the sky (Hmmm.. will I do this again - Probably Yes, but crikey it took some work!) Now I must give credit to Bev Rochester for her clouds template and I viewed her video to quickly learn how to create them.
Anyway - now I've shared the tag with my class - it was time to upload Edwin and enter him into a couple of challenges..LOL
Sooooo I would like to enter him in the following two challenges:
Magnolia-licious 8th Inspiration
Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge - Anything goes with a Shabby Chic option

I do have another card and will post in later today.

Have a great weekend.

There's a fairy at the bottom of my garden

Don't you just hate it when you have a song stuck in your head and you just can't get rid of it! Well there is a song - but its not a fairy that's at the bottom of the garden its a 'WORM'

There's a worm at the bottom of the garden
And his name is Wiggly Woo
There's a worm at the bottom of the garden
And all that he can do
Is wiggle all night
And wiggle all day

Now I know that this is a kids song - don't ask me where or why I had it in my head. But for some reason it came out when i was creating this tag.

Anyways since I've been sick - there hasnt been any creating (lots of blog hopping/stalking) but one hopes I feel better soon.
I thought I would start getting organised and enter a few challenges.
And wouldn't you know it - I've found one that this tag just falls into.
Now obviously its a Hanglar image and I've used the Make it Crafty daffodil image and a Maggy fence.
So here's my entry in 'By the Cute and Girly' - June Challenge - In the Garden and
Bloggers Challenge - Things with wings.

Have a lovely day

Another Copic Class challenge ~ Colouring on Kraft

Hi Everyone,
An update from our last copic class!
After a busy class with Debra teaching us - we all loved the technique of colouring using our copics on Kraft paper. Our "homework" is to go home and create a scene using the newly learned technique! As you can see we created some lovely tags - that were swapped at our next class. Everyone gets a chance to see and keep something with a different style. (Debra also creates a tag and joins in with the swap - although hers wouldn't be called homework and we get pretty excited about winning hers!) And yep I won this weeks Debra James swap.. whoo hoo...isn't it lovely!

I have listed the links to the ladies blogs in my side bar (this is so i don't have to go searching for them every week! Slack eh!)
Well have a lovely day.
I am still home sick with a bacterial infection and on my 4th lot of antibiotics - I do hope this is the last and I start to feel better soon, cause I just hate feeling sick!

Hugs and love to all.

Copic Class - Tags

Evening All,
Its been a little while since my last blog - but I've had the dreaded virus - the one that hangs on from at least 4 weeks (of course that's how long I've had it!)..
I have been asked by the most lovely (aka wonderful) Debra James to share our classes with you..
Aren't I special..lol
I have to share with you the class technique where we all learnt how to use only one copic colour and grey tones to add shadows or depth to our tags. Which I must say we all excelled at.

Now as you can see - the girls come up with some lovely creations - so please feel free to comment so i can past them on. Feel free to pop on over to Jodene's blog and leave her a comment - I will update this post if any of the other girls have their own blogs. **Edit** Charmaine joins us too.. Please pop over and take a look at her blog to :)

Thanks for taking the time to have a peek at our class homework. LOL

have a great evening.

A Taggy one!

Well, I was back from Melbourne and had to complete my tag for the copic class with debra so here it is!

I had some help with this one as I was away in Melbourne and typical me, left it all to the last minute - whilst driving to the train station to pick dear daughter #1, the image and final picture came into my mind..
Thanks Miss J.. creativity comes to those who leave it til the last minute (besides I have a cold!) and she even liked the pearl earring.
Oh which all wives wear in the kitchen..LOL now this strong girlie is a Kenny K girl and they have many more wonderful images - i just love this one tho!
Ribbon is a SU retired one and the papers are Kaisercraft as is the sentiment.

You can check out the other tags of our class here
and wouldn't you know i cant find a challenge to enter her into - but then I've had a couple of wines - cause ITS MY BIRTHDAY tomorra - and the DH is back up north in the morning erghhh early drive to the airport!... soo what did I get as an early birthday pressie (promise you wont laugh) the complete series of 'Murder She Wrote" how dorky am I? and Damien Leith's CD and and Rick Price CD from the boy (who got his P Plates today) celebrations all around! Oh yeah the Boy was only 19 (last week)

well best be orf to catch some TV.
Have a lovely evening.

On Holidays...

Well, I've had two weeks in sunny Melbourne (NOT) damn rain and spent the time visiting Rellies, house hunting and a quick trip to the 'G' for the footy.

so am back now with a cold.. sneezing and coughing! and back at work...
keep an eye out for my tag!

Rick Price - The John Denver Story

WOW - what can I say. I am still amazed at his voice and his story telling was fantastic. I know Stitching Noni went to see it as well - check her blog out to see what she said. I know she had a hoot as did I. One groupie (Moi) stood in line to get his autograph and had her pic taken with the Man... and yep - DH took the photo (he is a secret groupie too ..lol)
we had some of his really old CD's for him to sign as well as his program from the night.

We have seen Rick a total of four times and I hope this wasn't the last. Once in Moe about 20 years ago, with the Beach Boys in 1982, In Karratha and in Perth!.

Have a great nite
Sally
